KitKat Dress Code

While the kitty dress code follows the same guidelines for basically all events, you could say the SYMBIOTIKKA and Carneball Bizarre parties follow the main outfits: Kinky, fetish, gothic, patent & leather, costumes, glitter & glamour, elegant.

Dress code varies some for different parties. This is what the official sites list for various events:

  • Electric Monday Dress Code: “Please enjoy yourself in an open, diverse space. Come as you are. Our dresscode is relaxed but it‘s still the KitKat Club. Dress & express your self in creative styles and colors of your choice!”
  • Nachspiel Dress Code: “Burlesque, eye-catching, fetish-oriented or sexy outfits desired”
  • Piep Show Dress Code: “Sporty, colourful, kinky, sexy, fetish, creative, costumes”. Another event has it listed as “kinky or fetish [black or colourful], sporty [sportswear + sneakers], creative [sexy & imaginative], costumes”.
  • Four Play Dress Code: This party is for newbies, so the dresscode can be a little more casual. Officially: “Sexy swimsuits, Costumes, Leather, Latex, Naked, Super Heroes, Lingerie, Elegant.”
  • Gegen Dress Code: Officially your outfit should be: “TOTAL BLACK, kinky, leather, latex, or pvc”.
  • Human Colours Dress Code: “"Be colorful, sexy, creative, kinky, cosy, lovingly, be you, be human" Some have even said there’s “no dresscode”, although take that with a grain of salt.

KitKat Outfits for Men/Mascs

If you’re a guy or lean masculine, you don’t want to be just another tourist wearing black underwear and black shoes. It makes it harder to get in, and once you’re inside, harder to fit in.

At the very least, get a harness or chain necklace. Level up more with black mesh or oil spill fabric, like we use at Shop Radical.

For harnesses, you might want to get a black elastic harness so it looks fitted without being tailored. Chain harnesses also look pretty sick, very Berlin, and will be a bit different from everyone else. Or a little spoon necklace for a real statement. All this is below.

KitKat Club’s Parties

Carneball Bizarre (Saturdays)

Carneball Bizarre is KitKat’s most iconic and vibrant event. Held every Saturday night, this legendary party transforms the entire venue into a surreal wonderland of fantasy, music, and expression.

All floors and spaces are open, creating a kaleidoscope of unique atmospheres for guests to explore. Expect a diverse crowd, colorful costumes, pulsating music, and an electrifying energy that makes it the quintessential KitKat experience.

This party technically ends Sunday morning, but it rolls seamlessly into the Nachspiel-Afterhour (below). You don’t have to pay or re-enter or anything. So if you arrive Saturday night, you can stay until Sunday afternoon.

Symbiotikka (Wednesdays)

Symbiotikka is a midweek haven for electronic music lovers. It’s one of the best, regular mid-week parties in Berlin.

Known for its hypnotic techno beats and intimate vibe, this party usually focuses on the Main Floor. When high-profile DJs like Stella Bossi perform, the event expands, opening additional spaces and amplifying the energy.

Symbiotikka embodies the connection between music, art, and community, offering a midweek escape for those who thrive on the dancefloor.

Nachspiel-Afterhour (Sundays)

Nachspiel-Afterhour is KitKat’s laid-back Sunday morning affair, beginning around 7 or 8 AM and extending well into the afternoon.

With a calmer atmosphere and only select spaces open, it’s a chance to unwind, enjoy the pool, and connect with the lingering magic of the night.

While more relaxed, Nachspiel still retains KitKat’s unique spirit, proving the party doesn’t stop just because the sun is up.

Electric Monday

For those who aren’t ready to call it a weekend, Electric Monday offers a perfect continuation.

With deep house and techno beats, this party provides a more low-key yet kinky atmosphere where guests can ease into the week while still embracing Berlin’s nightlife.

Gegen (Fridays – Bi-Monthly)

Gegen is one of KitKat’s most liberated and edgy parties. Rooted in Berlin’s queer and fetish scenes, it attracts a diverse, open-minded crowd looking to explore their desires without judgment.

This bi-monthly event leans into the club’s sex-positive ethos, blending music, kink, and community into an unforgettable experience.

Revolver (Every Second Friday)

Revolver is an internationally renowned gay party that draws a predominantly (like 99%) male crowd. There’s usually more sex going on compared to other parties.

Known for its lively atmosphere, great DJs, and energetic dancefloors, it’s a staple event for gay men in Berlin and visitors seeking a night of connection and celebration.

KitKat Dancefloors and Spaces

Kitkat is quite the maze. Depending on the party and time of day, that maze can grow or shrink. I thought about drawing out a map, but finding out for yourself is more fun.

There are all kinds of cool corners, like an area up a flight of stairs with padded floors where you might catch people doing some erotic wrestling.

There’s plenty more, but it’s better as a surprise. Here are the main dancefloors and spaces.

Main Floor

Located on the ground floor, the Main Floor is the heart of KitKat Club, pulsating with high energy and showcasing sets from the night’s biggest and most renowned DJs. It’s where the crowd gathers to lose themselves in the music.

Dragon Floor

Adjacent to the Main Floor, the Dragon Floor offers a unique atmosphere, complete with a fire-spitting dragon as its centerpiece. It serves as a more alternative and visually captivating dance space.

In my opinion, the music is usually better on the main floor, but not always.

Intimate Areas

Above the ground-floor dancefloors, you’ll discover dark spaces furnished with beds for consenting adults to explore intimacy.

These intimate areas aren’t limited to this one spot—similar cozy corners are scattered throughout the club, blending seamlessly into the venue’s layout.

Prisma Bar

A half-level below the main floors, the Prisma Bar delivers a smaller, more distinct experience with its own intimate vibe. It features a compact dancefloor and an additional intimate area located just above it.

Smaller Dance Space

Beneath the Dragon Floor, you’ll find a smaller, more tucked-away dance space for guests looking for a different beat or vibe.

Relaxation Area

Between the Main Floor and the entrance lies a half-outdoor relaxation area, home to KitKat’s iconic pool and sauna. This space offers a place to unwind, refresh, and take a break from the dancefloors.

There’s seating most of the way around the pool, and it’s a pretty great place for your group to mingle and chat with others.

Basement

Near the wardrobe area, a staircase leads you to KitKat’s expansive basement. This underground level features additional intimate areas, including a BDSM space designed to resemble an abandoned hospital.

Adjacent to this space is the basement’s main dancefloor, located next to the Salon—a soothing area with softer music, perfect for winding down.

Bars

KitKat Club boasts seven bars, conveniently placed throughout the venue to ensure guests have easy access to drinks. Occasionally, complimentary fresh fruit is available at the bars for an extra refreshment.

Candy Shop

Adding a playful twist to the night, KitKat also features a small candy shop where guests can indulge in sweet treats, making the experience even more unique and unforgettable.

KitKat Club FAQs

What is KitKat Club?

KitKat is a sex-positive club in Berlin that celebrates self-expression, freedom, and inclusivity. While nudity and intimacy are openly tolerated, it’s technically not a sex club or a swinger venue where guests pay or expect to engage in sexual activity. Many people come simply to dance, enjoy the music, and chill with sexy people.

What does ‘sex-positive’ mean at KitKat?

Being sex-positive means creating a space where guests are free to express themselves without judgment. Nudity and public intimacy are part of the club’s atmosphere but not mandatory.

While some guests engage in sexual activities in designated play areas, most people attend for the music and the vibe. Many of those seen being intimate often know each other beforehand rather than hooking up spontaneously.

How much sex actually happens at KitKat?

If you've never been, it's probably not as much as you expect. A typical night would be seeing some blowjobs and a few people having sex. Some others living out different kinks and fetishes. But it's not like people are fucking everywhere.

Honestly, it’s more like a normal Berlin club, only the dress code is strictly sexy and the energy is sexually charged. But not explicitly about fucking.  Some events, especially Revolver, will have more sex.

How kinky is KitKat?

KitKat welcomes a range of expressions, from conventional intimacy to various kinks and fetishes. While the club is known for embracing alternative lifestyles, only a small portion of visitors engage in public fetish play.

The atmosphere encourages openness but doesn’t push boundaries unless you want it to. If you’re scared about it being overwhelming, it probably won’t be as intense as you expect.

That said, maybe you’ll see someone kneeling next to the urinals with their mouth open. Or a guy with a toilet brush up his ass.

Is it okay to watch people having sex?

People being intimate in public understand they may be seen, but there’s a difference between casual observation and inappropriate behavior.

Staring or standing too close is disrespectful and unwelcome. The best approach is to ask for permission if you’d like to observe. Honestly, not everyone does that, and I personally wish the staff would be more strict and vigilant to encourage better behavior.

If you want to watch, you can ask permission subtly. You don’t have to tap them on the shoulder and loudly ask for consent.

Masturbating while watching others against their consent is forbidden and can get you removed immediately.

Is KitKat a queer-friendly space?

The level of queerness depends on the event. Some parties, like Piepshow, are colorful and LGBTQ+ focused, while Revolver is exclusively for gay men and male-identifying individuals. KitKat as a whole is a diverse and inclusive space where all identities are welcomed. But yes, it’s certainly queer-friendly.

Is KitKat a safe space?

While KitKat strives to be inclusive and conscious, it is not entirely free of harassment. Most events have visible awareness teams enforcing a strict consent policy where “no means no.”

There can be undercover awareness agents for added security, but these details remain discreet. In any case, it’s good to go with people who make you feel safe and look out for you, regardless of your gender or size.

How do I get into KitKat?

KitKat’s door policy is famously selective. Bouncers carefully curate the crowd to ensure it aligns with the club’s ethos. Couples, especially female/male pairs, often have better chances, while single men can struggle to gain entry, especially on Saturdays.

Be prepared to answer questions about your intentions for the night, like which DJs are playing or what music you’re excited to hear.

Desperation is a red flag, so don’t pester others in line or try to “tag along” with strangers. Bouncers also filter out tourists who aren’t genuinely interested in the music or the sex-positive culture.

What should I wear to KitKat?

The KitKat dresscode key is dressing creatively and avoiding casual streetwear. Fetish-inspired outfits like leather, harnesses, fishnet, and sheer fabrics are encouraged.

KitKat has relaxed its previous “all black” rule, allowing colorful and experimental looks. That said, you’ll still see plenty of black Kitkat outfits because it’s a sexy color.

While you don’t need to arrive in your outfit, you must be able to show it quickly to bouncers, either by opening your bag or showing a photo.

Once inside, you can change and use the cloakroom, which is included in your entry fee.

Outfits that look low-effort may frustrate some regulars, as KitKat thrives on flamboyant creativity. Try to embrace the club’s vibrant energy in your clothing choices.

Do I have to wear fetishwear on the streets?

No, you can bring your KitKat outfit in a backpack and change inside the club. Bouncers generally prefer women to avoid wearing full-fetish outfits on the street to prevent drawing unwanted attention. You can use a photo to show you fit the dresscode if you want.

What’s the minimum age to enter KitKat?

The minimum age is 18. However, the club tends to attract a more mature crowd, and those under 21 may face additional scrutiny at the door, especially if they seem immature or unprepared for the environment. Most people are in their mid-twenties and thirties.

When is the best time to go to KitKat?

KitKat usually opens at 10 PM on weekdays and 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Dance floors typically start playing music around 10 PM. Arriving before midnight often means shorter queues, while peak hours are between midnight and 3 AM.

Personally, I wouldn’t queue without guestlist between midnight and 3 AM on Saturdays (technically early Sunday morning). Go earlier and feel the energy of the club rise.

What does the entry fee include?

Entry typically costs €20–€25, depending on the event. The fee includes access to the cloakroom, where you can check your bag and access it throughout the night.

What’s the phone policy at KitKat?

Phones are strictly prohibited once inside the club. You must leave your phone in your bag or coat, and attempting to take photos will result in immediate removal. Privacy and intimacy are highly valued. Take pen and paper if you want to get numbers.

What about drugs?

GHB is banned. As for taking drugs in the bathroom, Kitty is the only place I’ve been to where an employee (who are often posted up in the main bathroom) has knocked on the door and said it’s time to move on.

Now that I write that, it’s kinda surprising it’s never happened elsewhere. The point is, if your group is loud and obvious, you might not all get a turn.

What about sex in the bathroom stalls?

People can only use the bathroom and take drugs in the stalls, but you can have sex anywhere. So it’s polite to go find a dark corner instead.

Can I smoke inside KitKat?

Smoking is technically not allowed inside, but this rule is loosely enforced. A designated outdoor smoking area is available on most nights. I used to smoke there sometimes, and no one said anything. There are definitely less people smoking than in other clubs, especially on dance floors. If you want to take the little risk, better to be discreet.

I have seen employees say no smoking, but it’s usually to people who seem like they need a little lesson in discretion. Germans in general will take the opportunity to teach a stranger a little lesson.

What about the pool?

Yes, KitKat has a pool, and it’s open most nights. The water is cool and refreshing, offering a unique experience during the night. Towels are only provided when the sauna is open, and nudity is the status quo when swimming.

Is there an event calendar for KitKat?

Yes, you can find the full schedule of events on KitKat’s website: KitKat Event Calendar.

Which events are the best to attend?

The most popular event is Carneball Bizarre on Saturdays, when multiple floors are open, and the crowd is at its most creative and kinky. Weekday events are smaller and easier for newcomers to attend. Wednesday is a great night for a more authentic, yet accessible experience.

Fridays feature diverse parties like Fourplay for beginners, Piepshow for LGBTQ+ crowds, Mystic Rose for psytrance fans, Revolver for gay men, and Gegen for fetish enthusiasts.

What should I bring to KitKat?

You don’t need much, but useful items include cash, earplugs, chewing gum, condoms, small energy snacks, and a pen for exchanging contacts. Phones must remain packed away, so carry any essentials you might need. You can’t bring liquids in.

What languages are spoken at KitKat?

Staff typically speak German first but will switch to English if needed. Most guests also speak English, making communication easy for international visitors.

Can I change into my kinky outfit inside the club?

Yes! There are changing areas where you can slip into your KitKat outfit after arriving. The cloakroom is free, so you can leave your belongings there safely. If it’s crowded, they open a special area off to the side where people queue for the coat check.

You’ll get a lanyard with a number on paper in a plastic case.

How easy is it to get into the KitKat Club?

Entry can be challenging, especially on popular nights. To improve your chances, follow the KitKat dress code by dressing creatively and boldly, arrive early, and be chill. Avoid showing up overly intoxicated, as this will hurt your chances. Go on weekdays for the best change.

What is the dress code at KitKat Club?

The dress code encourages bold, sexy, and creative outfits. Latex, leather, lingerie, fishnets, and costumes are all welcome. It’s more colorful than it used to be, and the club actively encourages brighter dress codes.

Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays have the strictest dress code, while Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays are more relaxed.

Avoid wearing white shoes or casual streetwear, as this will get you turned away. Black boots or any black shoes for dancing fit the typical dress code.

How can I buy tickets for KitKat Club?

Tickets are usually sold at the door on the night of the event. Arrive early to avoid long lines. For smaller weekday events, you might be able to purchase tickets online in advance. If so, that doesn’t guarantee entry. But you’ll get a refund if you get rejected.

What are the behavior guidelines?

KitKat prioritizes respect, consent, and an open-minded atmosphere. Always ask for consent before engaging with others, whether it’s conversation, dancing, or intimacy.

Judgmental attitudes have no place here. Photography and videography are strictly forbidden, ensuring a safe and carefree environment.

Saturdays are probably the most likely night for an uncomfortable experience because there are more tourists. That said, there are stories of aggressive regulars mistreating people and making them feel uncomfortable.

There are way more great stories than bad ones. But I won’t pretend KitKat has perfect vibes.

Are photography and videography allowed?

No. Taking pictures or videos is not allowed inside KitKat. Phones must remain in the cloakroom to protect guests’ privacy. Occasionally, a club photographer may be present to capture moments, but they will always ask for your consent before taking a photo. These photos may be posted on KitKat’s Instagram.

Are mobile phones allowed inside?

No. Phones are not permitted inside the club. You’ll need to leave them in your bag at the wardrobe. Security will enforce this rule at the entrance to ensure everyone can fully immerse themselves in the experience.

What are the drink prices at KitKat Club?

The drinks are reasonably priced. Beers typically cost €4–5, cocktails and long drinks range from €6–10, and shots are about €3. A tip is normal, but not required.

Can I pay by card at KitKat Club?

No, KitKat Club operates on a cash-only basis. Be sure to bring enough cash with you. If you forget, there’s an ATM located right outside the club. You can go out with free re-entry using your stamp.

Is it possible for single men to get into KitKat Club?

Yes, single men can enter the club, but it’s more challenging, especially on busy nights. Arrive early to improve your chances and ensure your outfit aligns with the club’s dress code.

Bouncers aim to maintain a balanced crowd, so if there are already many men inside, it becomes harder for others to gain entry. A respectful attitude and an effort to blend into the club’s inclusive and creative energy will go a long way.
